The crepes from Capoue? This is my last gourmet discovery in Brussels and I had to share it with you! The famous ice-cream maker offers a wide range of tasty crepes that I have had the opportunity to try out and my taste buds are still not over it…
Whether you prefer the classic sugar crepe, or you are looking for the elaborate gourmet crepe, at Capoue, you will find what makes you happy. With Robin, we had the opportunity to order from their menu and we left with a full stomach!
Once there, we sat at a small table in the cosy living room. As far as the food was concerned, it was not easy to choose, everything was tempting. I had my favorite dessert, the Mikado crepe: a sugar crepe with vanilla ice cream and melted chocolate. A classic that I will never get tired of! More adventurous, Robin chose the Newton crepe: a crepe with caramelized apples, a homemade crumble, vanilla ice cream with caramel and salted butter. We also ordered a classic hot chocolate, and a Viennese hot chocolate.
When the plates arrived at the table, it was hard to resist. We had to wait to take the pictures and we could finally start enjoying our dessert!
Verdict ?
I really liked the home-made crepe, which is cooked on the spot. It is thin and the batter is delicious. For the Mikado crepe, I was a little disappointed as I thought there was a lot of vanilla ice cream for just one crepe. Therefore, the crepe becomes cold very quickly, and the ice cream has no time to melt a little bit. Despite everything, it was delicious. I’m a big fan of Capoue’s ice cream, I enjoyed it!
The big revelation was the Newton crepe. This mixture of textures and the hot/cold mix make this dessert absolutely incredible. The crumble was to die for and these hot caramelized apples warmed up the whole thing. Next time I’ll take the Newton crepe without hesitation! Not to mention that delicious caramel sauce… If I had had the opportunity, I would have asked for a cup of caramel to drink directly from as it was so good!
I find the price quite high: a gourmet crepe is something like 10 euros. So I will treat myself with these tasty crepes from time to time, but it will remain occasional. But in the end, it will only be even better, right?
The different locations and their opening hours are available on their website (https://www.capoue.com/).
