An escape room? I’ve been dreaming of trying one for a long time and now it’s done! I had the opportunity to discover 60 minutes, an escape room in the centre of Brussels and I took 4 of my friends to help me solve the logic puzzles…

What is an escape room ?
An escape room is a kind of life-size game, to be played with a team. You and your friends enter a room with a specific theme. Once locked up, you will have to solve a series of riddles and decode the clues in order to escape, all in a limited amount of time.
60 minutes is an escape room located in the heart of Brussels. There are currently two possible scenarios:
- Bank Job : this is the scenario I chose without hesitation. You get to play as a team of thieves robbing a bank. A mixture of logic and excitement that takes us straight in the bowels of a banking institution, but we still have to get out of them… Be careful, this is the most difficult room.
- The Room de Manneken Pis :
this scenario is intermediate difficulty. I haven’t tested it and therefore, I can’t give you my opinion on it.
These two scenarios are to be realized in less than an hour. Don’t worry, if your team can’t find the answers, a buzz will be at your disposal and you can ask for a hint to keep going.
I loved this experience. I am a great lover of games and I like to solve puzzles, collect clues and try to solve mysteries. 60 minutes offers very realistic rooms. At the beginning of the game, we are locked in a room that plunges us into the atmosphere of a bar. Everything is there to fool us and participate in the illusion: a bar, casks, a baby-foot, bottles: EVERYTHING.
At the beginning of the game, we arrive in this small room without precise indications. The game is on! It is up to us to observe everything to find the clues and collect the pieces of the puzzle one by one.
I really liked the team spirit that this game develops. It is impossible to find all the clues alone. We each have a different logic and reasoning. That’s the beauty of this game: we wouldn’t have succeeded on our own. Each member of the team found a clue or a solution so that together we managed to rob the bank!
As far as the difficulty is concerned, it was our first escape room. We have used the buzz a few times but on the whole it is possible to succeed. I am nevertheless impressed by the quality of the clues and mechanisms put in place in the room. It’s amazing!
The universe created around us immersed us in an amazing atmosphere, we were all caught up in the story and didn’t see time pass. The only regret we had was when we finished the story and had to stop. We asked for more!
60 minutes is an escape room that you absolutely have to try! The team is absolutely lovely and makes a large part of the decorations in a traditional way, themselves. The mechanisms put in place are impressive and the hints are well thought out. It is a great activity with friends, family and even colleagues. I can’t wait to get back there as soon as there’s a new scenario!
